Low-Cost LGBTQ+ Therapy

soho-psychology-london-lgbtqi-therapy.png

Finding a space where you feel truly seen and understood is the cornerstone of healing. At Soho Psychology London, we are proud to offer a dedicated low-cost therapy service specifically for the LGBTQI+ community. Located in the heart of Soho, a district synonymous with queer history and liberation, our practice provides a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your identity, relationships, and mental wellbeing.

Our service is designed to be accessible, offering sessions at £30 per session. We believe that high-quality, specialized support should not be a luxury, especially for a community that frequently navigates minority stress, identity-based trauma, and systemic barriers to care.

At Soho Psychology London, we are deeply proud to launch a new, low-cost therapy service dedicated specifically to the LGBTQ+ community, driven by a dual mission of accessible care and professional mentorship. First and foremost, this initiative is born from our profound passion for giving back to a vibrant community that too often encounters systemic barriers and a lack of genuinely affirmative, affordable mental health support. We believe that culturally competent care is a right, not a privilege. Furthermore, as qualified psychologists and therapists, we recognize a distinct responsibility to shape the future of our field. By utilizing this service as a structured training ground, we are actively creating vital clinical opportunities for the next generation of therapists, ensuring that the future workforce is not only highly skilled but deeply rooted in the principles of inclusive, compassionate practice.

Expert-Backed Support: Trainees & Clinical Excellence

Our low-cost service is delivered by a talented team of trainee counselling psychologists, trainee counsellors, and trainee psychotherapists. These practitioners are in the final stages of their rigorous clinical training, often at the doctoral or master's level.

To ensure the highest standard of care, every trainee at Soho Psychology is under the close supervision of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. This means that while you work directly with your therapist, your progress is supported by the combined expertise of a senior clinician. This collaborative structure guarantees that your treatment remains evidence-based, ethically sound, and tailored to your specific needs.

The Benefits of Working with a Trainee

Choosing a trainee therapist offers several unique advantages:

  • Fresh Perspectives: Trainees are at the cutting edge of modern psychological theory and are deeply invested in the latest affirmative practices for gender and sexual diversity.

  • Dedicated Focus: With smaller caseloads than many established private practitioners, trainees often have more time to reflect on your specific journey and prepare for each session.

  • High Engagement: Our trainees are passionate about their work and the LGBTQI+ community, bringing a high level of energy, empathy, and commitment to every therapeutic alliance.

  • Affordability: At £30 per session, this model allows for sustainable, long-term therapy that might otherwise be financially out of reach in Central London.

Flexible Therapy: In-Person in Soho or Online

We understand that your life is fast-paced and your needs are unique. That is why we offer flexibility in how you access support. You can choose to meet us in-person at our private practice in Soho, providing a physical sanctuary away from the bustle of the city, or engage in online therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Whether you are navigating coming out, gender exploration, relationship diversity (including non-monogamy and kink), or general mental health challenges like anxiety and depression, our affirmative team is here to walk alongside you.

Meet The Trainees

Yuri Stuppia

My therapeutic space is a place for self-discovery, healing and becoming. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen, heard and understood in the fullness of who they are. My approach is rooted in curiosity, and understanding how past experiences have shaped who we are today. I believe that healing happens in relationship and community, through connection, honesty, and the courage to explore both the difficult and the meaningful parts of life, so that we can choose who we want to become with authenticity.

I am particularly interested in working with themes of identity & self-expression, purpose, adverse childhood experiences and complex family dynamic. I’m experienced in supporting clients experiencing depression, low self-esteem and through bereavement. I also offer coaching for individuals working in the creative industry. Being part of the LGBTQ+ community myself, I am passionate about supporting queer, trans and gender questioning individuals in navigating societal pressures, relationship dynamics and the search for belonging.

I practice following a psychodynamic approach, exploring past experiences and unconscious processes. I also work relationally, which means that the relationship we’ll develop will inform our work together and be the basis for learning new ways of being. I then integrate elements of Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and IFS to bring awareness to current patterns of behaviour and help clients make choices that align with their most authentic self.

I strive to create a space that feels safe yet gently challenging, where clients can explore their emotions, deepen self-awareness, and move toward a more authentic and fulfilling way of being. Thank you for allowing me to connect with you.

Gabrielle Sharples

I am a Doctoral Trainee Counselling Psychologist at Soho Psychology and an accredited integrative psychotherapist with over six years’ experience in the field. I have worked across NHS, private, and third-sector settings and specialises in GSRD. I work with all clients, especially those who are neurodivergent, have chronic illness, grief and loss, and complex relational dynamics, including estrangement. I adopt a client-centred, relational, and trauma-informed approach, with a psychodynamic focus, but drawing on other models such as humanistic and CBT where appropriate to tailor therapy to individual needs. I am particularly focused on collaborative working, empowering clients to engage actively in therapy, and supporting them toward meaningful, authentic change.

Dennis Dizon

I am a trainee in Existential Psychotherapy at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling (London), supporting people who may be experiencing mental health distress. My professional experience spans 10+ years in the creative sector and tech industry between the US, UK and Europe.

Alongside clinical training, I work as a transformational coach and mentor, helping those who are navigating personal development, career changes and life transitions. With a background in the arts & culture, I also practise as an artist and educator.

My doctoral research explores the causes, use-cases, and potential impact of digital technologies as a substitute for mental health support. I am a trainee member of the UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy).

How I work with you
Throughout our time together, we’ll create an affirmative space, navigating feelings associated with bouts of anxiety and sensitivity, isolation and loneliness, identity and belonging. Trust and alliance are key throughout the therapeutic process as we explore your lived experiences in relation to your environment.

Our sessions aren’t directive but rather supportive, identifying and nurturing your values along the way. With guidance, we orient the work that follows your gut and rhythms in weekly sessions.
